শতভাগ বর্জ্য অপসারণের দাবি ডিএসসিসির

গতকাল শেষ হয়েছে পবিত্র ঈদুল আজহা। এর মধ্যেই ওয়াদা অনুযায়ী সবগুলো ওয়ার্ডের (৭৫টি) কোরবানির পশুর বর্জ্য শতভাগ অপসারণ করা হয়েছে বলে দাবি করেছে ঢাকা দক্ষিণ সিটি কর্পোরেশন (ডিএসসিসি)।
বর্জ্য অপসারণ
এ বিষয়ে আজ রোববার ডিএসসিসির জনসংযোগ কর্মকর্তা মো. আবু নাছের বলেন, ঈদের দিনের সকল বর্জ্য ২৪ ঘণ্টার মধ্যেই অপসারণ করা হয়েছে। আজ দ্বিতীয় দিনের কোরবানির পশুর বর্জ্যও আগামী ১২ ঘণ্টার মধ্যে অপসারিত হবে।
কোরবানির পশুর বর্জ্য অপসারণে সর্বোচ্চ গুরুত্ব দিয়ে গতকালই মাঠে নামে রাজধানীর দুই সিটি কর্পোরেশন। এ কাজে সাড়ে ৭০০ যানবাহন ব্যবহার করে সংস্থা দুটি। পাশাপাশি দুই সিটি কর্পোরেশন মিলে সাড়ে ১৭ হাজার কর্মী মাঠে কাজ করেন।
বর্জ্য অপসারণ
ঈদের আগের দিন ঢাকা দক্ষিণ সিটি কর্পোরেশনের মেয়র ব্যারিস্টার শেখ ফজলে নূর তাপস বলেছিলেন, ঈদুল আজহা উপলক্ষে কোরবানির পশুর বর্জ্য অপসারণে বিশেষ কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করেছে ডিএসসিসি। ঈদের দিন দুপুর ২টা থেকে শুরু করে পরবর্তী ২৪ ঘণ্টার মধ্যেই সব বর্জ্য অপসারণ করা হবে।
এবারও ঢাকাকে পরিষ্কার-পরিচ্ছন্ন রাখা হবে। সে জন্য পরিচ্ছন্নতাকর্মী থেকে শুরু করে ডিএসসিরি সকল কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীর ছুটি বাতিল করা হয়েছে বলে জানান তিনি।
