সৌদি আরবের মক্কায় কাবা শরীফের গেটে তীব্র গতিতে গাড়ির ধাক্কা লেগেছে। স্থানীয় সময় শুক্রবার বিকেলে এই ঘটনা ঘটে। প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীদের প্রায় সবাই বিষয়টাকে ‘দুর্ঘটনা’ বলছেন। মসজিদে হারামের নিরাপত্তায় থাকা সদস্যরা ড্রাইভারকে আটকে করে নিয়ে গেছে। জব্দ করা হয়েছে গাড়িটিও। এই সংবাদ প্রকাশ করেছে মিডল ইস্ট আই।
লন্ডনভিত্তিক সংবাদমাধ্যম মিডলইস্ট আই তাদের প্রতিবেদনের সঙ্গে এ সংক্রান্ত ভিডিও যুক্ত করে দিয়েছে। সেখানে দেখা যায়, মসজিদে হারামের গেটের বাইরে দিয়ে যাওয়ার সময় একটি গাড়ি হঠাৎ বাঁক বদল করে ভেতরে ঢুকে পড়ে এবং তীব্র গতিতে আঘাত করে মসজিদের ৮৯ নম্বর গেটে। এই ঘটনায় হতাহতের কোনো খবর পাওয়া যায়নি।
সৌদি আরবের রাষ্ট্রীয় বার্তা সংস্থা এসপিএ জানায়, গাড়িচালক একজন সৌদি নাগরিক। তাকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করা হচ্ছে। প্রাথমিকভাবে তাকে অপ্রকৃতস্থ মনে হচ্ছে। আশা করা হচ্ছে, শিগগিরই এই ঘটনার বিস্তারিত তথ্য চলে আসবে নিরাপত্তাবাহিনীর হাতে।
