দেশে করোনাভাইরাসের সংক্রমণ নিয়ন্ত্রণের অংশ হিসেবে আরোপিত লকডাউনের বিধিনিষেধ অমান্য করায় আরো ৫৬৬ জনকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে। আজ সোমবার লকডাউনের চতুর্থ দিনে ঢাকা মহানগর পুলিশ (ডিএমপি) এসব মানুষকে গ্রেপ্তার করে।

ডিএমপির জনসংযোগ ও গণমাধ্যম শাখার অতিরিক্ত উপ-পুলিশ কমিশনার ইফতেখায়রুল ইসলাম সোমবার দিবাগত রাতে এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করে বলেন, লকডাউন অমান্য করে রাজধানীতে ঘোরাফেরার অভিযোগে ৫৬৬ জনকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে ঢাকা মহানগর পুলিশ।
ঢাকা মহানগর পুলিশের এই কর্মকর্তা আরো জানান, অপ্রয়োজনে ঘোরাফেরা ও স্বাস্থ্যবিধি অমান্য করায় গ্রেপ্তারের পাশাপাশি মোবাইল কোর্টে (ভ্রাম্যমাণ আদালত) ১৬৪ জনকে ১ লাখ ২৬ হাজার ২০০ টাকা জরিমানা করা হয়েছে। এ ছাড়া ৪৪৩টি গাড়িকে ১০ লাখ ২১ হাজার টাকা জরিমানা করেছে ডিএমপির ট্রাফিক বিভাগ।

প্রসঙ্গত, ঈদুল আজহা বা কোরবানির ঈদের কারণে বিধিনিষেধ শিথিলের পর গত ২৩ জুলাই থেকে ১৪ দিনের জন্য কঠোর লকডাউন শুরু হয়েছে। যা চলবে আগামী ৫ আগস্ট পর্যন্ত। লকডাউনের বিধিনিষেধ বাস্তবায়নে মাঠে কাজ করছে পুলিশসহ অন্যান্য আইন শৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী। এ ছাড়া বিধিনিষেধ অমান্য করায় লকডাউনের প্রথম দিন শুক্রবার ৪০৩ জন, দ্বিতীয় দিন শনিবার ৩৮৩ জন এবং তৃতীয় দিন গতকাল রোববার ৫৮৭ জনকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়।
