বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের (বিসিবি) চাকরি ছাড়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছেন ওটিস গিবসন। বিসিবির সঙ্গে নতুন করে আর চুক্তি নবায়ন করবেন না বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় দলের এই পেস বোলিং কোচ। বিসিবির ক্রিকেট অপারেশন্স বিভাগের চেয়ারম্যান জালাল ইউনুস বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন।

বিসিবির সঙ্গে ক্যারিবিয়ান এ বোলিং কোচের ২ বছরের চুক্তি শেষ হচ্ছে আগামী ২০ জানুয়ারি। এরপর পাকিস্তান সুপার লিগের (পিএসএল) দল মুলতান সুলতানের সহকারী ও পেস বোলিং কোচ হিসেবে যোগ দিতে যাচ্ছেন গিবসন। পিএসএল শুরু হবে ২৭ জানুয়ারি।
দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার চার্ল ল্যাঙ্গেভেল্টের জায়গায় ২০২০ সালে বাংলাদেশের বোলিং কোচের চাকরিতে যোগ দেন গিবসন। এর আগে বিসিবির ব্যবস্থাপনায় বিপিএলে কুমিল্লা ওয়ারিয়র্স দলের হেড কোচ হিসেবে কাজ করেছিলেন তিনি। যার সূত্র ধরেই টাইগারদের পেস বোলিং কোচের চাকরিটা পান এই ক্যারিবিয়ান।
নিউজিল্যান্ড সফর দিয়েই বাংলাদেশ দলের সঙ্গে ওটিস গিবসনের কাজ শেষ হয়ে যাচ্ছে। লন্ডনে পরিবারসমেত থাকেন তিনি। নিউজিল্যান্ড থেকে সেখানেই ফিরে যাবেন গিবসন। বিসিবিকে নেমে যেতে হচ্ছে নতুন পেস বোলিং কোচের সন্ধানে।
