সাম্প্রতিক ইসরায়েল-হামাসের মধ্যকার যুদ্ধবিরতি কার্যকর হয়েছে গত ২১ মে থেকে। তার এক সপ্তাহ পূর্ণ হতে না হতেই পশ্চিম তীরের বেথেলহেমে ৫৬০টি অবৈধ বসতি স্থাপনের ঘোষণা দিয়েছে ইসরায়েল। ফিলিস্তিনি গণমাধ্যম ওয়াফা নিউজ এ তথ্য জানিয়েছে বলে খবর দিয়েছে মিডেলইস্ট মনিটর।

বেথেলহেম-ভিত্তিক দ্য ওয়াল অ্যান্ড সেটেলমেন্ট রেজিজট্যান্স কমিশন অফিসের পরিচালক হাসান ব্রিজেহ বলেন, কিসান ও আল-রাশায়দেহ গ্রামের ফিলিস্তিনি ভূমিতে ৫৬০টি বসতি স্থাপনের অনুমোদন দিয়েছে ইসরায়েলের দখলদারিত্ব কর্তৃপক্ষ।
গতকাল বৃহস্পতিবার এ অনুমোদন দেওয়া হয়েছে জানিয়ে হাসান আরো বলেন, এর আগে ইবাই হানাহাল বসতিতে আরো ৯০টি ইউনিট বাড়ানোর অনুমোদন দেয় দখলদার কর্তৃপক্ষ।
প্রসঙ্গত, সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে অবৈধ বসতি স্থাপনের জন্য বেথেলহেমের শহর ও গ্রামগুলোকে টার্গেট করেছে ইসরায়েলের দখলদার কর্তৃপক্ষ।
